References and bibliography

No matter what kind of assignment you are working on you must always document who you cite, which literature you use and where you have your information from. In your assignment you insert references that refer to your bibliography continuously. How to do this correctly depends on how you choose to set up your references. It depends on which standard or output style you use.

Which output style to use? There are many different output styles or formats for correctly citing your sources, DMJX has chosen to use the standard APA 7th.

Referent management. Use a reference management tool to keep track of your references and use them in a correct and consistent way.

Zotero. Zotero is a reference management tool, that can help you harvest, organize and insert references when you are writing an academic text or paper.

You can import and harvest the references and the literature you are working on to the software, and insert as references according to your preferred reference style as you write – all with a few clicks. Zotero will generate your literature list (bibliography) for you so you are sure to include all your references.

Zotero is a free-to-use program, and will integrate with most browsers (we recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) and word processors (MS Word and LibreOffice) as well as Google Docs.

Zotero works for both PC and Mac.
